In The Realm Of The Senses 1976 BRRIP 1080P Uncut. A recent trend has been the emergence of ‘found footage’ horror films, a throwback to the style of 1980’s B-movies like Army of Darkness and Evil Dead II. But this new genre has grown exponentially in popularity, with full-length feature films like Sinister and Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension in production. Found photos, audio clips and short videos are becoming more common; particularly when making documentaries about history or showcasing human behavior in their natural environments. From the late 1990’s onward, many directors have also employed this style in their works, including acclaimed French director Agnès Varda (Vagabond) and prolific filmmaker David Lynch (The Straight Story, Lost Highway). Found footage is often pulled from various sources or is shot by amateurs on their phones or cameras. As most evidence of paranormal sightings are also documented online, the genre has given rise to the term ‘reloaded footage’. Directors can achieve a cinematic quality through these types of films by giving them professional production values and editing. The found footage trend has also created the emergence of the ‘documentary filmmaker’; capturing elements of reality with no intention of making a film, but to simply document their lives. This is also evident in the debut feature-length documentary by Australian filmmaker Mick Betz (The Festival), entitled “In The Realm Of The Senses” (1998). The film follows an English couple, reconnecting after years apart. While filming their reunion for a documentary, they travel to Thailand to meet her estranged sister, and experience first-hand the country’s royal family. While there, they explore why Thai women are considered to be highly sought after brides by wealthy Westerners. Betz has no formal training in filmmaking, but greatly favors the documentary style. He has created many documentaries for the National Geographic Channel and Discovery Channel, gaining notoriety for his unusual subject matter.During production of "In The Realm Of The Senses" (1998), Betz had no intention of creating a film to be shown in theaters. Rather, he wanted to record his own personal experiences to share with friends and relatives back home. Betz stated that he never even saw the footage until several years after filming had completed. He began considering making a film when he met future wife, Francesca, in Sydney in 1997. He moved to Thailand to work on an art project and this renewed his interest in filmmaking. While there he saw two female elephants step on a terrified woman and almost kill her during the Queen's birthday parade, which inspired him to make a short film about royal elephants. By late 1998, Betz had become interested in the subject of Thai women and their role as "the most mysterious commodity" in the country. Betz felt that what made Thailand such an interesting place to live was that it is "an island tribe with an ancient veracity" (Betz 2014). cfa1e77820
